The basis of our methodology is communication. Our objective is that the student will be able to use the new knowledge in the correct way. In view of this, as well as studying grammatical structures and linguistics, we stress the necessity of achieving communicative competence.

To reach these objectives the Centre has developed a methodology based on the functional use of the language and by the end of the course the student will have learnt, not only about the culture, but also about the social life offered in Spain.

It is important and logical that the student takes the responsibility of learning seriously, through studying, timing and continuity.

At the same time we are aware of the various Spanish dialects and languages (Spanish in South America).

OUR METHODS
Our methods for teaching Spanish to foreigners are structured for various levels depending on the requirements of the European Mark and the curriculum of The Cervantes Institute.
Our objective is to give students the strategies and necessary know-how to cope in a Spanish environment by being able to communicate.

• Intensive 20: This course of 20 lessons weekly of general Spanish language course is perfectly designed to learn the language and allow students free time to enjoy their stay in Spain, or give them time to honour their work commitments.

• Intensive 30: This 30 lesson course is especially designed for:

1. Any professional who needs Spanish for their job and normally finds themselves short of time to study and wants to get the full benefit of their stay in Spain. 2. Students who need to prepare in-depth for Spanish exams in their own country or those who want to take the D.E.L.E. exam (or the Spanish Ministry of Education). 3. German professionals who are involved in the Bildungsurlaub project.

• Intensive 20+5

This 20+5 lesson course will allow you to enjoy a general Spanish language course with other students of different nationalities + 1 extra private class designed and tailor-made to cater to your specific interests. Private lessons: Individual course designed for the specific interest of the student. Flexible in number and content: General Spanish, business, conversation, grammar, translation, etc.

• BUSINESS SPANISH 20+5: 4 lessons general Spanish + 1 lesson Business Spanish

This course is aimed at those who can understand and speak Spanish. You will cover new aspects of the language, learn correct grammar structures and define concepts in both spoken and written Spanish both necessary and appropriate for the Business world.

• LANGUAGE AND CULTURAL COURSE 20+5: 4 lessons general Spanish + 1 lesson Language and Culture

A detailed Spanish Course looking into history, art and economics through the ages. It is important to have previous knowledge of the language (Intermediate level)

• DELE Preparacion20+10: 4 lessons general Spanish + 2 lessons exam preparation

Intensive preparation course, which will be 20 lessons of general language course and 10 special preparation classes for the exam per week.

• Dele Preparation 10: This is perfect for students whose level of Spanish is pretty good and you only need assessment and preparation to obtain the diploma.

SUMMER COCKTAIL SPANISH+MULTIACTIVITIES OPTION A (6 – 10 years)

• 2 Spanish lessons per day + Multi activity programme
• Monday to Friday 9:30 to 13:00
• Maximum 10 students per class

Spanish Classes + activities taught and organised by our native teachers in a friendly and relaxed way using games, songs, counting etc. Handicraft workshops, cooking workshops, games and other activities are offered by specialised monitors. SUMMER COCKTAIL SPANISH+SAILING OPTION B (8 – 15 years)

HOMESTAY
Living with a family can be very interesting. It allows you to get to know the Spanish way of life within the home, the customs, the food, ways of enjoying yourself and, above all, you can practice Spanish out of the classroom. You are just another member of the family.
We have links with a number of trustworthy and experienced families which are 5-15 minutes walk from the school.
We offer single and double rooms. If you want to share a room with someone it has to be a relative or friend. You can choose between half board and full board.
It is not necessary to bring your own towels for the bathroom, but if you need towels at the beach, please bring your own. There will be bed linen in the apartment, too.

FLAT-SHARING
This is the most independent option. You have your own room and share all the communal areas: the sitting room, the kitchen, the bathroom, the toilet... Some of our flats have Spanish students that live in the flat, which offers the opportunity to practise Spanish at home. They include bed linen, blankets, use of kitchen and laundry room, shared bathroom and TV. Cleaning is not included. Accommodation is available between 12:00 noon on the Sunday prior to the first day of the course (Monday) until 10:00 noon on the Saturday following the last day of class (Friday).Those students that for different reasons need extra days, there will be an extra cost per day. In the low season it is not possible for a single person to book a double room. Please supply your own towels.

HOTEL BOUTIQUE
The Hotel is a charming Hotel in a 19th century building, in the historical centre and close to beaches (10 min walk), Castle, Port, Bar & Restaurants and Shops. With a unique colonial decoration and original pictures throughout the Hotel, we hope that the client can feel the charm of the essence, the history and "the way of life" in Denia.

PRIVATE APARTMENT BY THE BEACH
The school can rent out a furnished apartment for as long as necessary. Two months notice is required in high season.

GENERAL INFORMATION

• This is a service exclusively provided for our students while studying in the school.
• The prices provided are for weekly rental. These prices are inclusive of the cost of electricity, water and gas on the understanding that there is reasonable usage.
• Rental must be paid in advance.

You can choose one of three different kinds of apartments. The studio is a small room with a bathroom and a place to cook.
The one and two bedroom apartments are more spacious. All apartments have a place to cook and refrigerator.
There is also a community pool, where you can relax after your Spanish lessons. The price reflects the quality and we are sure that you will enjoy your stay in these apartments. The apartments are situated on Las Marinas Beach. It is one of the best beaches in Dénia and a great location for relaxing and having fun. There is a bus-stop in front of the apartment complex that takes you to the port in Denia at a 10 minute walk to the school.
Day of arrival (after 5:00 p.m.) and departure (before 10:00 a.m.) is Saturday. A credit card will be required as a deposit.

PRIVATE APARTMENT IN THE CITY
The school can rent out a furnished apartment for as long as necessary. Two months notice is required in high season.
The apartments have one or two bedrooms and are a modern design. The walking distance to the school is round about 15 minutes and 20 minutes to the beach.

SCHOOL TRANSFER
TLC Dénia makes transfers from either Alicante or Valencia
Arrival details such as (date, time, place and flight number) are required at least two days before the arrival.

Enrolment is easy. You can do it through our website, by telephone, fax or direct with the school. To reserve your course, please send the enrolment form (one for each student) together with a non-returnable deposit of 100€ for course and 200€ course+ accommodation. (If you wish to book a private apartment please send 100 € + 25% of the accommodation fees). This deposit will be deducted from the total. Full payment must be paid at least two weeks before the start of the course.

• Confirmation procedures:

When we receive your enrolment form and your deposit, we send a confirmation letter and your invoice with the details of the services requested.

• Details of accommodation:

We will send these 10 days before the course starts. In summer it may be a little less. Please let us know where you wish us to send this information. If payments are not made in advance we cannot issue the accommodation address.
Keep your receipts as it is necessary to present them on arrival.

• Extra payments: if there is an extra payment, it must be paid on the first day of the course.
