Spanish School general description
Carmen de las Cuevas is a Spanish language school acknowledged by the Instituto Cervantes, as well as a leading Flamenco Centre, a popular choice owing to its spectacular location and authentic Andalusian ambience. The school building, a charming whitewashed house cut into the hillside, boats several sun-drenched terraces with breathtaking views of the Alhambra. Founded in 1984, it is perfectly situated between the historic neighbourhoods of the Albaycín and the Sacromonte and, 25 years on, continues to combine experience and enthusiasm to provide a unique learning experience.

Methodology in Spanish courses
We offer six language-learning levels that correspond to the six Levels of the Common European Framework. At each level, students have a textbook as the base of instruction which is then supplemented with other teaching materials such as specialized texts, music, games, DVD’s, film clips, newspaper or magazine articles, literary works, comics, and other didactic materials that promote learning. Our teaching method centers around the communicative approach to language acquisition but it also incorporates many other strategies and methodologies that facilitate learning. Instruction and all classroom interactions take place entirely in Spanish at every level.

Transfers connections, students accommodation and other services
We offer a wide range of accommodation options: single rooms, double rooms, apartments or charming apartments with 1 or 2 bedrooms. If you want to use your time in Spain to practice Spanish and to get to know the Spanish way of life, we can offer you host family accommodation with a Spanish family. All accommodation is situated close to the school with a maximum walking distance of 10 minutes.
Being a student of our school will allow you to purchase discounted admission for flamenco shows and the arabic baths. You can also ask for a school key to have access to the schools facilities, such as free wi-fi, Internet, video room, library, terraces, flamenco studios, snack machines, everyday from 9 am to 11 pm.
At the weekends we offer excursions to Seville, Cordoba, Costa Tropical and to the Alpujarras. You can find for every weekend the schedule at the school.
