International House Palma is widely considered to be the leading language school on the island.
The school occupies a bright, modern, spacious building in the centre of Palma, just off the prestigious Passeig Mallorca avenue. The 14 classrooms are spread over 3 floors and there is air-conditioning
throughout. The top floor of the school is also an internet wireless hotspot, meaning that students can connect to the internet using their own laptop computers or 3G phones if they wish. The area immediately around the school is partly residential and partly commercial and there are several bars, restaurants and hotels within a 2-3 minute walk. The beautifully preserved old city which contains most of the city's main tourist attractions, including the cathedral and the ancient Arab baths, is just a 10-minute walk away.In September 2010 IH Palma moved to a new school building, located just off the Paseo Mallorca, one of Palma's smartest boulevards.

The main objective of most of our Spanish courses is to improve the students' communicative skills. The emphasis of classroom activities is therefore the development of the students' abilities to speak and understand spoken Spanish. For this reason, classes are conducted entirely in Spanish and students are given plenty of opportunity to practise the sort of language they are likely to need outside the classroom. We don't just want our students to "know" Spanish, we want them to be able to use it!

ue attention is also paid to grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing skills, and a wide variety of materials is used, including published materials from many different sources as well as materials which have been written by our own teachers.

Transfers to and from Palma airport can be arranged at any time at an additional cost.

IH Palma organises a varied programme of social activities for our Spanish students. These include a Welcome
cocktail, visits and excursions to places of interest in and around Palma, films in Spanish, and exchange evenings at
which students can meet and talk with some of our other students who are learning English or German in the school.
We also take students out in the evening to experience some of Palma's unforgettable nightlife.
Most of these activities are included in the course fee.
