The school is located in the historical quarter of the City of Viveiro (Lugo Province, Galicia), in the northwest of Spain, on the shoreline of the Bay of Biscay. It is a tourist destination, characterised by an extraordinary natural landscape and significant cultural and historical heritage. For this reason, Viveiro offers the possibility of enjoying a multitude of sporting, gastronomical and cultural activities.

Porta Nigra International Language School is distinguished by a warm, friendly environment, where language learning is done in a personalised way. The instructors are experienced professors with teaching degrees, and class size is small in order to facilitate communication between students. The main goal is to promote a dynamic, simple and pleasant learning environment, complemented by a variety of practical experiences and audiovisual materials. Our desire is to guarantee students´ wellbeing, an indispensable condition for successful learning.

A fundamental part of the school is the Spanish for Foreigners educational programme. In order to obtain the best results possible, it is essential for our students to speak this language from the first day they are here. During the summer months we have intensive Spanish courses for foreigners. These last from 2 to 8 weeks, and include 4 hours of classes daily, in the mornings.

All educational materials needed for the courses are provided by the school, and all students receive a certificate specifying the language level acquired at the end of the course.

Porta Nigra International Language School offers language courses all year long, for both adults and children of all levels (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). In classes, taken by specialised professors, we work on all language aspects: grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, conversation and written expression; all in a fun, pedagogic method with small groups sizes (maximum 8 people).

Accommodations are available from the Sunday prior to the start date of the course to the Saturday (12:00 noon) after course completion. (Exception: students staying during the second half of August will leave on Wednesday the 31st at 12:00 noon)

Viveiro is an ideal place where the proper combination of studies and vacation can become a comfortable, relaxing and highly effective experience.

The school offers a communal lodging option, where students share flats with other foreign
students who are also taking Spanish courses; this facilitates integration as well as adaptation, and improves communication between students. The flats are completely furnished and close to both the school and the beach.
We also offer students the option of staying in a hotel or boarding house, if they prefer.
