Spainreceives more than 200.000 students every year spending some time to study Spanish or to continue their learning, but their arrival is never easy if they do not have an extensive knowledge of the language. We want to teach you the most used sentences and expressions in our country, so that any student coming to undertake a Spanish course in Spain can use them and better manage inSpain:
- Apaga y vámonos: Is used when something gets to an end or when you hear or see something absurd. “Ya ha terminado la película, así que apaga y vámonos”
- Al mal tiempo, buena cara: Is normally used to make something that happened seem less important. “No te preocupes si te cuesta mucho aprender español, al mal tiempo, buena cara”
- Estar de mala hostia: When someone is very angry. Tiene mala hostia: He has very bad temper or he acts with bad intentions. “El director de mi escuela de español estaba hoy de mala hostia, así que es mejor no decirle nada”
- Borracho como una cuba: When someone is very drunk. “Carlos ha bebido mucho alcohol y va borracho como una cuba”
- Cojonudo: When something went very well. “El examen del mi curso intensivo de español me ha salido cojonudo”
- Con un par de huevos: Is used to explain that to do something you have to be brave. “No tengas miedo de acercarte al perro, hazlo con un par de huevos”
- Hacerse la picha un lío: Is an expression you use when someone is confused, makes a mistake or has a tendency to make mistakes. “El camino a la escuela de español es tan com-plicado que es fácil hacerse la picha un lío”
- Descojonarse: Means laugh a lot, laugh one’s head off. “Es muy fácil descojonarse con los chistes del profesor de español”
- Está en el quinto pino: Is an expression used to refer to something very far away. “La casa de Raúl está en el quinto pino”
- Tirar los tejos o trastos: When someone does or says something to try make out with someone else. “Siempre que voy a la discoteca me gusta tirar los trastos a la camarera”
